I've been using the Yamaha DSP E-492 3-channel proc/amp to supplementmy main stereo to turn it into a 5.1 HT set-up. This unit is a few years old and I am trying to upgrade to another more up-to-date 3 channel processor amp without going full blast into 5.1 or 6.1 due to cost. Plus, my main stereo is great sounding. I've had Adcom (3-channel proc/amp) before and liked the Yamaha DSP E-492 better.
Any idea who else makes a 3-channel unit ? My only alternative is to
buy a mid-high AV 5.1 or 6.1 processor/amp with preamp outs (for my
stereo) so that I can send the FL and FR signals to my stereo !
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

What you have is a transistion product. I have not seen a current 3 channel processor/amp, except for the Vandas, in quite a while. In fact, Artech is blowing the Vandas out. So either you keep what you have or look on the used market.
