I have chance to purchase a new T761 at a great price and have reason to be concerned, given amount of feedback both for and against the receiver. Has anyone the experience from owning and living with the receiver that may share their satisfaction or dissatisfaction. I am most into musicality but want the flexibility of surround sound. The T761 could be the most afforable balance for me. It would be paired with a pair or North Creeek Vision Signatures (Scan Speak drivers and Revelator tweetor). I have listened to the Arcam AVR200 and thought it very musical for a receiver, but somewhat underpowered. I have also listened to a Denon 3803 which was rather detailed but too fatiguing and could not listen to for extended periods. I am much obliged for feedback from experience with the T761.

Follow Ups:
I purchased a T761 in July '01 then returned it August '02 when the left channel became intermittent. NAD sent me a new unit within a week and half. I just returned it today. For the last week I've been experiencing choppy audio when playing DVD's. The video signal is fine and audio CDs play fine.I've spoken with a couple of dealers and service centers and all have suspected the receiver and not the DVD player. But just to be sure, I tested my DVP S7700 (Sony's reference model from a couple of yrs ago) on another receiver and noticed no problems. I've never experienced any problems with that unit, so the roads are leading back to the receiver. My T761 is being checked out right now so I should hear back in a week.
When it was working, it sounded great. I have a set of Paradigm speakers and am using a Prism D2 digital interconnect. The T761 is more than adequate for my moderately sized room.
After returning this unit, I'm highly suspicous. I searched the 'net and found a couple of posts from users with similar issues. I can't say with certainty that it is a lemon but I would definitely be wary. I'm exploring options to hopefully avoid getting another T761.
