I have a Canon Digital Elph Camera. It came with a cable to hook up the camera to my TV to view pictures. One end is an RCA plug to go into the video input in the TV the other end is plugs into my Camera. This end has a funky looking end. - Not a STD plug in.What I am wondering is there some kind of cable that will hook to your PC to connect to a TV to view Pictures? - I'm thinking a USB to RCA type cable.
It's got to be technically possible, as I can download Pics from my PC to Camera and via the cable can watch them on my TV. I just wanna bypass the camera.

Can't help it, just have to give this link to you guys.
Any graphic video card that has a VIVO (video in/Video out) or TV out feature will allow you to connect your pc to a regular TV using a regular video cable. Lots of brands to choose from. I have an ATI but ASUS, Leadtek, Forsa, MSI, Matrox also make them. Chaintech even has an SVideo out capability.
Thanks for the reply.I have a new HP laptop and I believe the only outputs are USB and a VGA out which I have used for a LCD projector. So I am guessing I am out of luck as far as this laptop? - right?

Like House de Kris said a scan converter work well with a laptop. Several brands on the market. Focus TView commercial products are relatively inexpensive ($80 -$150) and available all over the web.

You could buy a scan converter to convert from VGA to NTSC (or PAL), so you could still use your laptop.

How much would one of these cost? - Do you have a link of one for sale? Thanks!

Over the years I've collected three of these things. The oldest one, TVAtor Pro, requires the installation of drivers and is a real pain to use, but the quality is very good. More modern ones are just plug and play and reside between the computer and monitor. In your case, it would just hang on the VGA output.Cost is around $300 depending on maximum resolutions convertable and quality of output. You could spend more or less.
I currently use the AVerMedia AVerKey 300. It is fairly nice. Most converters have composite and S-video outs. Ones available today may even have component outs, I don't know.
