After reading messages(numerous) about bad customer service with Sony and Toshiba, i'm considering the lesser known brands of tvs like Hitachi, Zenith, and Sharp. I want a 32" flat screen, probably the best before the entry level HDTVS. I don't want to invest in the box in addition to the tv.Any opinions on these tvs? What models should i look at? .Will probably use tv 75% for tv shows and 25% DVD. I'm not against tvs from the big boys, but for the cost of them, customer service should be second to none. I did see a Sony 32" Model KV32SHS500 on sale for 999.99 at Good Guys. Wasn't sure if this was a good price or not. Regards,Bob.

I think out of the three brands you mentioned, Hitachi probably makes the better quality tubes, IMO. My brother has a 36" Hitachi (not a flat-screen) and the picture is very good.Have you looked at JVC? They make some very nice tubes for the money.
