New Samsung 61". Watched "Finding NEmo" and the picture was better than any theater. Very good off axis picture as well; and sound was great fr an in-TV system.

Follow Ups:
I have heard such statements far too often, which suggests that the quality of the typical movie theatre has declined over the past couple of decades. I make a habit of complaining about picture quality in a movie theatre if it is not up to snuff. If you really want to see what film can do, go to an IMAX theatre. They crush any home theatre system. Picture and sound quality are beyond reproach.

.... because one is sitting so uncomfortably close to that huge screen. Yes the audio is good, something I cannot tolerate on other movie theatres. Any why do they all have to have it so painfully LOUD?The last time we went to any movie theatre was because my wife won free tickets. She has had the suggestion to cease entering the competitions as I will no longer go. The movie content was only so so anyway. At home we abandon such material so it is a bit pointless to go to the trouble of travelling to a movie theatre for a negative experience when the audio & video is so good here.
Rant over.
We invented IMAX here in Canada, so the setup is right. I enjoy being immersed in a good movie. Huge screen? Its only 60 feet tall. (Do not try this at home ;-)True finding a good movie is a challenge, but the advantage of being in Toronto is we tend to get a wide range of movies, but big Hollywood & small independent film (I have a fondness for flicks from NZ & Aus!).
LOUD? WHO SAID IT WAS LOUD? ;-) Basically its loud to compete with middle-aged couples who think they are at home & need to carry on a conversation (What did he say? That is crazy! Is that the same guy? etc.)
like DLP's and LCD's positively look fantastic with animation. They look great with any movie, but animation, especially digital animation, just look perfect on these sets. If one utilizes a DVD player with DVI digital output, connected to a digital TV via DVI, movies like Nemo just flies off the screen it's unbelievable...
