Hello there,
Just started searching for a dvd player and did not know it would be so difficult a choice.I have sony components, but have read that the sony in my price range is not too good. Everyone says get progressive scan for the quality picture tv's that are in our future. I noticed that some units have the capability to put your digital photos on tv. Is this worth investing in or just another part that may break later? My biggest concern is picture and sound quality along with being user friendly.I don't see a need for a multi disc unit but i do want to play most music formats. Anyone want to take a stab at this? HAS ANYONE BOUGHT A UNIT 100.00 OR LESS THAT YA JUST LOVE?
Thank you,,,FOXY~~~~

I picked up a progressive-scan Pioneer @ WalMart. Model DV-260, for $79.00. The progressive output is fantastic for the $$.It plays DVD+R, DVD-R, MP3's, and plays JPEG's also. I heard the JPEG function is a little slow, but I've never tried it.
Pioneer has a player for a bit more more, I think $175.00 that does all ov the above PLUS DVD-Audio, and SACD.

I purchased at Radio Shack a CyberHome CH-DVD 300 and it's a fantastic little player. It has a standard composite video, S-Video and component video (Y, Pb, Pr) outputs with stereo L,R audio outputs. It's used in the bedroom with a Sony Wega KV-27FV300 TV along with a Pioneer CLD-3070 laser player and a Sony SLV-940HF VCR. Click the link and see:Ken
