  I am running 3 powered subs in the front mains and center each with an LFE input. I have two outs right now, and the extra bass from the LFE in the center channel really adds to the effects. So yes, I have heard of Y connectors. Get some sleep!

      What am I missing? I guess I thought that by having multiple outs the receiver would be doing the splitting more evenly than one or more Y connectors post signal processing would do. Sorry about the earlier comment. I would really appreciate some knowledgeable input.

        and the point one means only one discrete feed to a sub-woofer. Splitting the low frequency output of 5.1 is something you have to do with you set-up if you prefer and wish to maintain the LFE routing the way it currently stands. For those who wish to run more than one sub-woofer, some subs are available (Martin Logan for example) with line in and out connections. your case requires a little bit of improvisation. It seems as though splitting the LFE o/p is the only easy way.

          Thanks for the input. I am still on a learning curve, and I appreciate any knowledge that will make me a more informed buyer, and listener. I would especially like to avoid having misconceptions about what might be needed or what is available to improve my system. I love listening to music, and am trying to learn how to enjoy it more.
