I have a Toshiba model CF32C50 TV. There are 3 inputs - TV and 2 video inputs, which do not have tuners. I use video 1 with my DVD player and video 2 is the PIP input which I feed through a VCR, which acts as the tuner.
I have a problem with the audio when I watch a signal from the TV input.
When I turn on the TV, I get sound at a low volume which fades away to almost nothing within about 1 minute.
There is no problem with the sound when I watch a signal from either the video 1 or video 2 inputs. All of the features, including the surround sound simulation, work fine.
What's happening? I have some modest electronic skills - enough to follow good instructions. Is this something where I could buy parts and fix myself? I don't want to invest substantial dollars in an in-home service repair since the TV is already several years old plus I can get the audio by passing the TV input signal first through another VCR which feeds the audio to my stereo system.

I have the exact same problem on my Toshiba CF32C50 TV. The sound on the TV input is bad. Still haven't found a cheapo solution to the problem.

I would like to believe that your TV is broken. Unfortunately I have never heard of this problem, but without schematic and scope, I would not even try.
If you don't have this two, then just call a shop.
Aperantly problem is either in the tuner or switch selector for AV/TV.
I would place $1000 on tuner.
But it could be just some stupid bad connection arround this stages. So if you have electronic skils, just lool for joints arround tuner. You may get lucky.
