Hey all, this is my first post and from the forum names, this seems like the best place for my issue.Anyway, I recently moved from an apartment to house and after setting up my home theater system, my Sunfire Junior Sub doesn't seem to be working any longer. It's connected to a Denon 3802 via the subwoofer pre-out with a Monster subwoofer cable to the left "line-level" input on the subwoofer. The light is on, indicating the subwoofer is on, but the bass/sound coming out of it is so minimal I can barely tell it's doing anything.
These are the things I have tried/checked -
1) I reinited the microprocessor on the Denon 3802 and reconfigured everything.
2) On the Denon 3802, the sub is set to 'Yes', the crossover freq is 80Hz, and the sub level is set to zero db. When sending the test signals to the speakers, the sub makes no sound. I've tried turning the level up to 10db, but no change is evident. For the Dolby Dig and DTS soundtracks, the sub level is set to zero db and -10 db respectively.
3) I've ensured that the signal flow of the subwoofer cable is in the proper direction, I've tried a different sub cable, and I tried using the "front channel" pre-amp outs on the receiver...still no workee.
4) On the subwoofer I've tried all the level/crossover/phase knobs, and none seem to make a difference. I tried using the speaker cable input on the sub and I heard sound coming from it, but it was very minimal. This leads me to believe that it's the subwoofer that all of a sudden went bad while it was being moved, but I took great care in moving it myself, double boxed. I am going to bring a friend's subwoofer over tomorrow to see if his works, to rule out the A/V/ receiver pre-outs.
Does anyone else have suggestions of what to try or has anyone seen something similar?
Thanks!

The same symptoms are possible with a damaged cable.

Sorry I forgot to mention that earlier, but I did run to a retailer, picked up a new cable, tried it, and had the same result...hardly any sound. It sounds like the sub is the culprit, but I hope it's not a blown amp as Sam suggested :( I'll be trying a friend's sub tonight to make all the fingers point to my sub.
It's probably the amp in the sub went bye-bye..... i had this happen a long time ago with an Infinity sub.... the output level went down to about 5% of normal (but still there)... It's probably not a problem with the moving per-se, but cycling the power after leaving the unit on for a long period of time (notorious problem with power supplies).
Just to followup, I narrowed the problem down to 0 sure it was the subwoofer, then decided to take it apart. There was an internal fuse blown, so I went to Radio Schack, got new fuses, put one in and tried it again. No luck, the internal fuse blew again :( So I called Sunfire and am sending it in today. Their flat rate fee for a Super Junior sub is $195 - DOH!
damn. Well, at least you found the problem.... I hope you had owned it a long time prior to having this problem...good luck
No, I've owned it about a year...got a good deal on it used though. I was never able to crank it up in the apartment, but hopefully that'll change once it returns good as new from Sunfire.
