Follow Ups:
If you have any DVD's with the THX optimizer, follow the directions. That would be a good place to start. Other than that, I suggest you consider purchasing one of the A/V calibration DVD's such as Digital Video Essentials or Avia. Not only do these discs have video calibration patterns, but are very useful (essential, IMO) in properly setting up your audio settings. For the audio setting you will also need a sound pressure level meter, most commomly found at Radio Shack.
Thanks James,The problem with doing it to a DVD in terms of matching colors and stuff is that im partially colorblind, if not almost entirely. I found a pro to come do it :-)

I don't mean to sound rude but if you are almost colorblind do you see mostly in gray scale? And why would it be important to get your TV calibrated if you don't see the colors? Perhaps for other members of your family? Just curious. Regards, ...AbeP.S. ChetAtkinsDiet, thats clever! I have over a 1/2 dozen Chet Atkins CD's. I know nothing about music or guitar but I love the way he plays.
