Looking for dlp HD2+ front projector for large dedicated HT room with 100-120" screen. Budget $6-10K(for projector). There is no place to go to make valid side by side camparisons as the few local dealers have only 1 brand projector set up and often not well calibrated. Anyone have an opportunity to view several current models side by side?
Needless to say this is a major investment for me and I'm hesitant to buy projector sight unseen, especially if no local dealer. Thanks. All input greatly appreciated.

By referring to a "dedicated room," I take it you can get perfect or near perfect light control. The 100-120" size would be pushing things for something like the Sharp recommended below, particularly if you cannot get the room almost totally dark. You should also look at the In-focus or Toshiba models near $10k (basically the same machine just rebranded by Toshiba). These put out a brighter picture than the Sharp, but the black level suffers just a bit in comparison.A bit beyond this range, I also like the new Marantz, Dwin and Runco projectors. I've heard good things about the Barco DLP, but I have yet to see it.
Plenty of information and they also have a Search function at AVS Forum.

try the sharp z10000 or 12000...people recommend the marantz unit as well. I have the Sharp 10000 series and I am very happy with it for my 96 inch screen. Oh, and the 10000 is heavily discounted because the 12000 is the new replacement (brighter but basically the same unit).
