I own an Anthem AVM-20 v2.15. Due to the mediocre tuner performance I have purchased a used Sony ST-S730ES tuner. Now I don't need a home theater processor with a tuner! I would be interested in your suggestions for a used replacement HT pre/pro in the $2k-2.5K range. I do have the following requirements:1. Must have 5-channel decoding and output capability.
2. Must have a "true" analog bypass for my Cary CD306.
3. Must have balanced inputs for my Cary CD306.
4. Must have both balanced and RCA outputs for 5 channels. There are very good comments on the Proceed AVP2 though I have no idea if it meets all my criteria. I am not familiar with other HT pre/pro's out there and I am very interested in you recommendations!!
TIA

I have noticed this too. If you like FM, don't choose your processor because it has a tuner. However, it does have the advantage that when you don't know what is hooked up to what, you can rely upon the built-in tuner for a signal! Why not just keep the beast anyway?
