narrowing down my choices and need help:
*panasonic xr-70 - seem's a bit pricey as i would go new and little concerned about build if used and hard to find.
*nad T761 (used) - probably best sound but very concerned about reliability.
*pioneer vsx-1014 (new) - concerned about 2 channel sound quality.-any experiences or comments from above or similar and comparisons welcomed! thanks.

Follow Ups:
i have gone through many Sony's (ES), Pioneers and Panasonics and can *easily* say that the Denon 3805 is by far the best HT Receiver i have ever owned. Very reliable, intuitive, awesome amps and makes a great pre for 2 or multichannels.
I agree on the 3805.As I was shoping for the amp I noticed a fue used 5800's around and took a chance on the used thing.Wow what a killer amp for around $200 more.Good luck
Pioneer announced their new line of receivers which include several features not included into the 1014. The street price is around $439.00.Check out the thread at www.avsforum.com

Wow, it's remarkable how your choices resemble my list. I guess after price, reputation, functionality are considered, these are the natural choices. I've been meaning to buy one of these soon, but just simple 2-channel sound out of my vintage pioneer 2-channel integrated is sounding so satisfying, I've been putting off buying a real receiver. One day..

I will add my 2 cents. I had a Denon 4802, which was tremendous, and got the upgrade bug and spent $6000 on a McIntosh and don't know that I stepped up that much. You can't miss with Denon. A little confusing at first on setup, but a tremendous reciever for the money
