Comcast Friday announced it's definitely shutting the VOOM HD sat service down. Woe to those who popped hundreds of $$ for VOOM receivers. Not enough quality HD content available, I suspect.

Follow Ups:
There's plenty of HD content... but most subscribers are already on cable or other satellite services so having yet another choice that arrived at the party late may have been the problem. It's too bad they didn't make it but in my estimation it wasn't for lack of HD content. Heck, there's plenty of HD content even Over The Air (FREE) via HD tuner and outdoor UHF antenna.

Could it also be the dirty little secret that nobody talks about Re. : satellite TV. Do the phrase "Searching for signal" resonate ?
I live in S. Az. and would love to have access to the HD programming available on satellite as opposed to the ridiculously low content on cable. However, during our rainy 'Monsoon Season' of about 2-1/2 - 3 months all I'd get would be "searching for signal".
