ok, my system is in flux right now, and i happen to have a spare set of Symposium rollerblocks and a Svelte shelf, so under the cable box they went. i listen to the Music Channels on TWC it's great. but the sound i'm getting now is quite a bit better:
* noise floor is down quite a bit
* sound is more lively
* instruments are more defined
* timing is improved
overall, the sound has transformed into a very respectable source for sound. and someone please verify my results, but the picture seems to have improved as well.
i have that new Scientific Atlantic HDTV DVR recorder.

I also replaced the external power supply on mine, plus ERS under it and good cables, sound is better than most CDs or DVDs...

Digital gear in general seems to benefit from vibration control.
