  Here's a possible solution: DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink.

    I found a hardware hack
    http://jvb.nl/jvb.asp?cur=2&level=modifications&page=title&title=741

    (plug in board)but it won't convert pal to ntsc. Which gets me part of the way there....
