Yup--I certainly agree with your assessment, both with reference to CRT TVs and to vinyl (I usually hang out at the Vinyl Asylum).
We didn't get the Sony XBR you recommended, just a plain vanilla Philips, but even my 15-year-old son, who was captivated by the LCD TV, admits the picture is way better on the CRT.
You gonna be at the Heathrow Hi-Fi Show at the end of the month? If so, let me know what room, and I'll make a point of stopping by and saying hello.
