I just got a foreign film DVD and it plays well in my machine (marantz DV 9500). However, when I tried to make a duplicate of the disc for a friend, the same disc reads as a blank disc in my computor. Any way to to open this disc?
Incidentally, I tried both dvd shrink and decryptor, as well as Nero and all show a reading of a blank disc.
Follow Ups:
Here's what I pulled up on that player:
Some of the DV9500’s numerous convenience features include the ability to read the following formats, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD-stereo and SACD multi-channel, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD, VCD, MP3 and JPEG discs.Unless your computer is very old, it should be able to "see" and play any of the video formats on that disc that the Marantz can play. These days most computers will tell you what's on the disc, even if you lack the software to make use of it. And that's easily remedied by a simple download. Do you have access to another (fairly new) computer to confirm the disc is unreadable by a computer?
I believe (not 100% sure) the software programs you mentioned only work with the MPEG format, so SVCD, VCD, CD-Video, etc won't work.
