A big electronics store in the nieghborhood is closing and heavily discounting its inventory. I'm about to buy a Sony ES DVP-CX777ES 400-disk changer (dvd/cd/sacd/dvd-audio) at about 50% of msrp. The unit has consistent high marks from reviewers and will solve my disk storage headaches. Audio still will go through my CI DAC unless the Sony really sounds better..unlikely.My worry is whether and how soon HD DVD will make this player obsolete. Since we only buy a few movie dvds a year, maybe I'm making too much of it. Is the ES worth the extra $$ over the standard Sony 400-disk changer. Thoughts?

Follow Ups:
First, I doubt it will play DVD-A since it's a Sony.
Second, I think your analysis is correct as HD is still dim on the horizon and the initial products may be pricey.
