I have a dual use system with 2 preamps. My B&K Ref 50 HT preamp currently feeds my PS Audio PCA-2 bypass mode. I use the PS Audio with my 2 channel sources (phono and SqueezeBox/DAC). I currently have my subwoofer signal coming solely from my HT sources (DVD & SAT). When the B&K Ref 50 was my sole preamp, I used its LFE to feed my sub. Now that I have both preamps, I wanted to get the Asylum's thoughts about how to hookup the sub for both music and HT duties. I was thinking of getting a Velodyne SMS-1, but noticed that it only has one input, so I am back to figuring out the best way to route this. I can see using Y-connectors for sub (one for the LFE out on the B&K and one on the second RCA out for the PS Audio). With something like a SMS-1 in the loop, what do you suggest?I would also love to hear from people who have the SMS-1 and whether is is worth the $600 street price in your opinion. So far all the feedback is very positive.

I use my Adcom stereo pre-amp for two phono tt's, a tape deck, and a tuner. Set at a constant level, this pre-amp is connected to my multi-channel NAD pre-pro. The pre-pro feeds an NAD multi channel power amp and a powered sub. All stereo sources (those above plus laserdiscs and those DVD's that are in 2 channel) are played in the music mode of Dolby Pro Logic II. All other DVD's are played in DTS or Dolby Digital and the pre-pro converts 5.1 material into 6.1. I use phantom channels for both the center and the rear center. The speakers are four Magnepan 1.6's.
