  I have a Marantz 7400 and it sounds wonderful. Features are fine for me. Over at the AVS Forum, the general (but not unanimous) consensus is that Marantz is best sound-wise, but that others (Denon, Yamaha) have more bells and whistles.

  I was considering that same model until I found that the Yamaha HTR-5860 was nearly identical and can be had for $320 or so (if you shop the websites)...
