  As I recall Secrets of Home Theater, in their review, while raving over the PQ, found the SQ to suck. Why bother modding? It`ll never be a giant killer, & it`s a lot of work just to get decent SQ.

    The OPPO IS a giant killer regarding Picture Quality.

    The OPPO features 192k/24 bit DACs, built-in 5.1 and DTS decoders, and DVD-Audio. With selective, quality modifications (e.g., a clock upgrade) the OPPOs Sound Quality might be a giant killer as well.

      I was 1/2 right. They raved about PQ. Whether the AQ can be modded to giant killer status remains to be proven.
