  I have read about sync correcting software while searching for software that converts from one type of file to another. Unfortunately (though rather fortunate for me), since I never had the sync problems with the software that I used to convert my files, I never tried it out. I did read that some of the better converting software doesn't seem to suffer from this problem.

  You might try downloading the actual DivX player and see if it does a better job of decoding the files.
