I have purchased the TV's but not the set top box. That I am waiting for the price to come down. Probably after the Superbowl.
I bought the Mitsu 55857, ya just dont wanna getup!
I also went for a Toshiba 36 (crt)type, I am going to return it for an upgrade. The Toshiba 40" 40H80,this little baby has it's own stand!
Just like the big guys.
I dumped alot of $$$$$$$ but the decision was firstly interest free financing for 1 year. Second why purchase a TV (crt)type when it will be obsolete in a few years. Mitsu has already gotten out of the crt type arena. The biggest you'll find is 32 in an HDTV(crt)and they are huge bucks. I have seen panasonic, toshiba. Don't be fooled the sony wega is not HDTV. Just flat screen.
Follow Ups:
My Sony KW-34HD1 is a high definition tv. 16.9 aspect ratio, and it came with the set-top box
I bought the Toshiba TW40H80 (previous model, note the TW, wasn't HD ready) and had problems with the daughterboard in charge of screen size. I couldn't use any of the Theatre modes. I had the service call at the end of the warranty period, the daughterboard was backorder for 8 months, and my TV wasn't any better. I ran into the Toshiba rep in my old shop and told him what was going on. He got back in touch with me within a week and informed me that they were going to RA my TV and replace it with a TW40X81. So, I got the BEAUTIFUL x81. I must tell everybody, when I got my H80, I didn't think that NTSC could look any better. Boy, was I wrong--the line doubling progressive scan set is amazing. I can't wait for Toshiba to get that stupid receiver in the market.
