The general way an antenna is added to a VCR with the VCR connected to the TV via the coax: is to run the antenna into the "VCR coax antenna in", THEN the VCR's coax out from the VCR to the TV. The Antenna WILL WORK even if the VCR is off. VCR's are made that way.
