I want to add HT to my stereo system. My current sources are DVD and CD and am using Magnepan 1.6 speakers. I do not envision adding any additional source any time soon. Music/Movie ration is about 80/20.My debate is that the B&K is very nice sonically, but I felt, with my current sources, I will under utilize the receiver as far as input/output is concerned.
Is there other products out there with similar performace and between $2500 - $3500 (+/-)? I checked out Denon 5800 but from the manual, the recevice might not like 4 ohm/low sensitivity speakers (rated 6-8 ohms).
Or should I just go with the Boston DT7000 (~$1000 MSRP) and be done with? (I don't mind sperate systems and save a few bucks, my requirement on HT is not very high)
Thanks!

I was not impressed with the B&K 307 (sorry, just my opinion). Instead, I am currently using a Denon AVR5800 with Vienna Acoustics Beethoven speakers, rated at 4 ohms, with no problem. In the Denon user's manual is the following note:"The protector circuit may be activated if the set is played for long periods of time at high volumes when speakers with an impedance lower than the specified impedance (for example speakers with an impedance of lower than 4 ohms) are connected. If the protector circuit is activated, the speaker output is cut off. Turn off the set's power, wait for the set to cool down, improve the ventilation around the ser, then turn the power back on."
The specifications list a dynamic power output of 310 watts into 4 ohms in stereo. I suspect you MIGHT have problems trying to drive all seven channels into 4 ohms at high volume simultaneously. My guess is that you'd be consulting with an otologist for hearing loss long before this happened though.
