I don't know anything about the Panamax. I selected the HTS-2000 because:
- It was designed by someone competent
- Robert Harley gave it a rave review
- The "systems" issue of TAS featured it in some pricey setups
- It had good reviews at AA
- There are sufficient outlets for my combined stereo/AV system
- A connection for cable TV eliminates the omnipresent hum
- Three different levels of conditioning allow for various types of gear
- It was on sale for $169 at Audio Advisor
I recommend the HTS-2000 highly. It was unbelievable bang for the buck.
