Did you look at the Denon DVD-2800? Although there were two bugs (see earlier posts or do a search), price is just a bit higher and it may have more to offer you. Take a look at www.denon.com to see if you are interested. Just another possible option.

For starters, the new DVDO video decoder is better than the Genesis chip, for calibration of the display device fine adjustments are available from the player, it offers 24/96 on the digital outputs, it uses a 12-bit/54 MHz video converter that upsamples to 4:4:4, etc.
99% of folks would not be able to see any difference between the players with movie content. Those specs you quote are virtually meaningless.

Ahhh, but so impressive...Those specs look really good.
If it only costs 100-200$ more, it would be nice to have the HDCD and MP3 playback.
Will have to wait until someone else buys and trys it first. I would like to see a review posted about the Denon DVD-2800.
