of the sets, like the Toshiba theaterwide models come with an "anti-glare" screen that protects the inner screen. Check them out. I recently bought the 40 inch model 40H80 for $1800 or so. It's 16x9 and has mostly great features and only a few stupid ones. I also have their TW65X81, a monster with a great picture. If you get one, immediately turn down the contrast to 15-20 to save your eyes and the tubes...it's set way too high.
Follow Ups:
I have a 40H80 and love it. The contrast setting are at 50%. Do you suggest cranking it down a little.
I did not know lowering the contrast would save the guns?Mitch
get yourself one of the test DVD discs from Joe Kane (Video Essentials) or Avia. Once you've set it up via the disc, your contrast setting will be much lower.
I'll do that, thanks. Just one problem, I havn't purchased a DVD player yet. This was my next question. I borrowed one last week and it did my TV justice...
Recommendation welcome!
Thanks,
Mitch
I'm looking at the Harman/Kardon DVD 50 progressive scan DVD. Don't know much about it since its so new.
