Thanks for the info., my concern over placing the DVD player on top of the TV was whether the monsterous magnetic field would affect the DVD performance. I guess I'll try it and see...

I wouldn't put it on top of the TV, because of not only magnetic feilds, but vibration. vibration of the TV can have a large impact on the DVD player's accuracy.--TB
