I accidentally (total stupidity) left a large woofer driver with a huge magnet near my Sony monitor overnight. Now I have large green areas on the right side of my screen. Is there any demagnatizer tool that will remove these without dragging this monster to a repair facility and spending big bucks to fix? Thanks in advance.

I have a deguassing tool, it's just basically a large loop of wire that is enclosed in a plastic holder, about 16" in diameter. it has a a/c cord with a snap off switch in line. Cost about $40USd, back when I bought it. Works great, and they pay for themself the first time you use it. Try a indepedent electronics store after trying the other suggestions if you need one.Regards,
Tesla
Check to see if you have a button labeled "Degauss", that's what it's for.Good luck,
Jeff
My older 32" Sony XBR will degausse itself by turning it on and off a bunch of times. After about five minutes of this, most of it is gone, and if I then go eat dinner and come back, it's back to normal.See ya. Dave
The same thing happened to me when I left a telephone on the top of my Sony TV. The big green spot went away in a few days.
