-Manufacturing Dissent-
2 liberal documentarians from Canada start by shooting footage for a complementary documentary about Michael Moore. They end up creating the opposite once they discover the facts about how he has createed his films.

Follow Ups:
You want to rewrite history by showing he was not perfect??
What he was, was "CORRECT". And "MORALLY RIGHT". Not perfect? Big deal. Maybe you can find he has hemorroids. The corect term for such crap is "ad hominem" argument.
Moore was right. Most everyone else, wrong.
He and Byrd were voices of sanity in the madness.
Me too, btw.
-------------Call it, friendo.
who was interviewed by Bill Moyer. This interview was shown on PBS . . . I think it was in 2002, though I could be mistaken about the date.
Regardless of what you think of his libertarian politics or his run for president, Paul saw right through the current administration's propaganda.
...one mustn't talk about that stuff.

If you look you will find most "creatives" are shits.
But who cares.
I don't have to live with them. Neither do you... or your political opinions.
Similar right wing posts are appearing all over as a certain American political party faces up to the fact it is about to get beaten because it has an idiot leading it until that election.
Tough luck.
Don't come round here bleating left wingers aren't perfect.
We know. But the more you do it, the lower your reputation sinks.
Here a meeting of Republican underlings try to present an argument:
No, here they do...
Do a search on Outside. See why I got the following I do. My prediction that Iraqi suicide bombers were coming and only weeks away (they were right on time) had dozens of experts telling me I was crazy and a traitor. Some are even friends of yours.
At least Michael Moore is challenging us with issues worth discussion, as "fair and balanced" is a slogan, not the true state of US media -imo.
A Nation without tolerance or capacity for dissent, devolves towards tyrrany.
What was it Voltaire said.....
I agree with your premise, however isn't it more than a little disingenious of MM to advance a supposedly fact based documentary that is really just another editorial ? I would have more respect for him if he were honest about his intentions and his output. Instead of accepting him at face value, it is nice to see someone critically examine him using the same methods he uses to make his point.
Best,
Ross
It is called a polemic. Moore never said for a moment that F9/11 was anything but. Most great political documentaries are.
F9/11 is not only the most successful documentary in the history of film, it is also the most vetted. Where are all the lawsuits? The most prominent, the $85 million suit brought by a vet depicted in the film, was thrown out immediately by the judge who heard the case. The documentary with the biggest bullseye on it's back in history and that's it?
Does the Bush family not, for a fact, have connections to the Saudis? In retrospect, wasn't Iraq relatively peaceful before the bombs fell compared to the mayhem of the last five years?
If anything, it's even worse now if you think about it. Look at the economic picture, the national debt, the financial crisis, OIL PRICES. This country elected two men deeply connected to the oil industry and they invaded the 2nd largest oil producing nation on earth for reasons that turned out to be false. The result is oil prices of $115 a barrel and trillions in profits for the oil companies and trillions of debt for the American people. Do you really want to say that Michael Moore is the bad guy here?
Upton Sinclair probably wasn't a perfect human being either, but back then at least, the public seemed to be more receptive to dire warnings...
he says that before the U.S. invasion, Bagdad was (despite, or perhaps because of Saddam) a peaceful, cultured, beautiful city when one could sit in an outside cafe, sip tea and watch people go by. Now, as we all know, it's a hellhole. The city and the country have been ruined, perhaps for all time.
I liken Bush's Mideast policy to the farmer who tries to remove a hornet's nest by whacking it with a big stick.
As for Michael Moore, only extremely naive people will fail to see what his movies are about. Of course they're not 'documentaries' in the strict sense of the word--they're far more than that.
theres plenty of other video showing this to be true. It was a Western city, with colleges, and department stores. It is now in the stone age and anarchy.
A better outcome was so close at hand... and yet...
"You can safely assume you have created God in your own image when he hates all the same people you do."
in frustration.
... it's only right wingers who can screw your country without criticism... it's the American way...
