He plays only himself in all of the last decade.

To say Jack is charismatic would be a huge understatement. He is one huge human magnet, and some naturally resent that magnetism.
There is great deal of him in each of his role... just like with any great actor. Guess what - they do not select a particular actor for role because that actor has no recognizable ID. So the phrase "playing himself" really has no meaning.
And yes it does mean something. Look at his last roles. Again and again the same mimic.
And that is fucking boring.
....I don't think he cares about 'acting' anymore, only 'performing'.
