The period between the World Wars holds a fascination for the Brits,
and with good reason.
Most everyone knows Brideshead Revisited. But have you seen (or read)
Testament of Youth? It's the complete opposite of Brideshead, but superb.
A lot of All Creatures Great and Small takes place interwar. If you haven't
seen it, it's very enjoyable, a look into a world long gone.
Piece of Cake starts before the war, it's about a Spitfire squadron.
The squad starts the series as a disaster looking for various places
to happen. Sadly, they get far too much opportunity to improve.
Actually, I am hoping someone will suggest a good one I haven't seen.
Follow Ups:
"Easy Virtue" (2008) based on Noel Coward play has Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Jessica Biel mixing it up in a "roight proper" English Manor as Biel is the rash American driver who steals Thomas' son.
"Cracks" (2011) story of an attractive young instructor (Eva Green) at a girls school whose sophistication and airs cause puppy-love crushes among her girls. Trouble brews when an equally sophisticated Spanish girl arrives only to incite passions in Green. Great cinematography and art direction.

Guess it's time to see it again.
I put Edge of the World in my queue.
I think you'd like the BBC version of Testament of Youth.
