...it's always been that way.
More recently, I blame Fox News.
But where the arts are concerned, that's no excuse to snob up, even if you claim you are not alone.
Most films today are aimed at 15 year old boys - some like grits will always be 15.
Others can still get in touch with that part of themselves and have fun.
Some things may be superior to those who are passionate enough to appreciate the differences, but if you can't tell the difference between Chateau Lafitte and Hearty Burgandy, it just means you are a cheaper date.
Enjoy your finer old films, as you pat yourself on the back with your feelings of superiority in your high brow solitude.
Follow Ups:
You are an old fuddy-duddy who thinks curmudgeonly behavior makes you something...it just makes you obnoxious.Rx: You need to watch more college movies from the early 80's.

We're waiting.
I'd never waste anything more expensive. And damned if it didn't come out freekin great. We lost the recipe a decade ago and all attempts to recreate it have failed.

Nowdays, kids are a lot more aware. A 23 year old couple came over this weeknd (the female's parents were joining us for dinner and she and her fiance usally show up as well). They bring over a bottle of Stags Leap Merlot. We were in our late 20s before we even had a clue (but we learned fast!!).
