  I could not agree more..... SPR was an amazing accomplishment for SS.... And Tom Hanks portrayal was equally oscar worthy.... I also liked The Thin Red Line that year as well.....and there were some excellent performances in that film as well that were overlooked.... I feel the same about Ms. Paltrow as I do Spacek....what is the big deal? (Paltrow's mother is a FAR better actress)..... Cate Blanchett's performances as Elizabeth I was far more compelling than Paltrow's that year.....
