That was over the top tho. Gritsy recommended this one and I'm gratedful for that, Mrs. Nasty, on the other hand, would like to have a word with him.
The scene you related was played in an offhanded, "matter of fact", way, i.e., two professionals who knew the score with no over the top dramatics added by the director. In execution, it reminded me of how Hank's demise was played in the Breaking Bad or how the two "heroes" were left for dead in The Way of the Gun by the bagman.

Mud was nothing compared to the psychopathic behavior of Joe. 'Dallas Buyer's Club' is opening somewhere this weekend and I saw the previews here a couple of months ago and thought MM had been digitally processed to look that emaciated. Just saw where he lost 50lbs for the role...he had about 0% body fact to begin with...how did he do it?

And Ol' Matty M. did his part with the moanin' and groanin'. That was one of the more, ummmm, *interesting* movies I've seen. It's hard to imagine another cast of characters with whom I could have so little empathy - talk about yer white trash!!
