Better picture than even the Oppo!

So, nice review. I'll wait until Blu-Ray discs come down in price.

Blue Ray has a much better picture, even than HD on TV. And the sound of the uncompressed audio is better too. Prices are at what DVDS were a few years ago. Why deprive yourself?

You can get numerous Blu-ray discs at WalMart for under $8 every day. There are often specials for $5.00 during the year. I got my daily email from newegg this morning and in it is a Toshiba Blu-ray player for $50.

You sound like one of those people who want everything for free.

Seems DVDs will be discarded soon at this rate. I'll be there!

Comments on AVs look very promising also. It looks like a winner. Thanks for the link.

As soon as I get the awards for those patents I've been crowing about, I'll get one.

So you're saying that Sony has *finally* undone all the built-in video flaws that *all* their other BDPs have? [I have one now and have had other Sony BDPs.] Gotta see this...I don't for a second believe it though.

We'll see what the pros say, these flaws are measurable for those who can't see them - there's a huge range of display capability/setup = another problem for casual reviews from unknowns (least to me).

I don't own a Sony player--I have two other brands--but out of curiosity, what are these flaws??

I'll post something on its performance in a day or so.

Even though I've got 4 other things connected that can play (and upscale) DVDs, I still use the Sony DVP-NS75H HDMI DVD player because nothing else is as good for zooming in to see more details, or single-framing to see how an effect was done. The only quibble is the zoom steps are too coarse; there's no zoom level that's suitable for "un-windowboxing" a non-anamorphic DVD.

So, I'm curious how well (or if) this Sony Blu-ray player implements those features.
