RE: The "Soap Opera Effect" on LCD/LED TV's.

I call it the "cartoon effect".
My buddies 42" Samsung 120Hz TV makes everything look like a cartoon (and I've seen others on display with the same effect, particularly when they're playing cartoons... ba-dum). I'll take a non-cartoon picture with less resolution anyday. Is it his settings? Most likely. But he loves it so I'll let him be. My 50" Samsung plasma has a much nicer picture out of the box IMO. Haven't played with the settings yet.
