A sixth sense
The usual suspects
Etc.
These movies are rare I think because they have to be unique and not copy cat rehashed plots.

Though it wasn't exactly a definitive "ending" that hits one with a hammer and a punchline ... "Sleuth" with Caine and Olivier
and Twilight Zone "Eye of the Beholder" was a shocker.
Hitchcock had a knack for the surprise ending especially in his tv show Hitchcock presents. Seems like there is nearly always a wicked ending.
I especially remember one show called, "The Jar". The punchline (at about 45:55):
"T-H-E-D-Y. . . What does that spell, mama?"
"Thedy". . .
"S-U-E. . . H-I-L-L" . . .
(Screaming) "IT'S THEDY!!!"

There was the Fatal Frozen Leg of Lamb...
Hitch never let anyone Get Away With It.
He would fill in the blanks at the end of each show,
just to let you know they didn't.
He liked those roles...
You gave away THE ENDING!

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Twilight Zone , of course, but a good twist ending for sure!

I liked that they worked in Kevin McCarthy, from the original.
Genuinely Scary.
Just kept getting deeper into the madness. The original scared me as a kid. Gave me creepy nightmares.I liked the way the original slowly built up the supense.

THE MECHANIC (1972)
That ending great but it wasn't a surprise at all. The movie clearly telegraphed that Charles was going kill Jan after discovering that Jan was hired to kill him.
"A record unplayed is a record wasted!"
For the one or two not familiar, its a good one in this category.
If it could be made into a movie, the 'Murder of Roger Akroyd' would be the greatest surprise movie.
