just saw his last western, at a revival house, and it was as good as I remembered, but not a leave the show with a happy skip and whistle effort.
As for spaceships and all the rest, it really is how far you want to suspend reality,
After all , one would never see a multi millionaire actor of the status of clint eastwood driving drug mule runs for extra cash. John wayne never killed a bunch of guys because he was an unbeatable gunfighter, etc. It just depends on the fiction one selects, and it's all fiction, outside of documentaries.
I have enjoyed eastwood's work ever since his days on the TV show wagon train, where he played, who else, Rowdy Yates, scout.
Yours is the only thing positive i have ever heard about the Mule movie, so I skipped it, along with all of his latest work., because of the reviews.
Not because i am a slave to critics , but use them as part of general information about a release, to read the signs of an artist in decline.
I was impressed at his transition to director, and the quality of his work. The last picture of his I went to was gran torino, a good film.
Follow Ups:
I am using a phone as a mobile hot spot, and it screwed up, freezing the screen at my end, while sending off a post on the other end, while checking for errors.
In getting the screen unstuck , I took the opportunity to run my mouth further. On a good day, I can stop before my foot goes in it.
Hi Beachcruiser, it was Rawhide where Eastwood played Rowdy Yates. I'm new to Wagon Train at 62 and am loving it. Ward Bond is the man on that one. Take care Beachcruiser...Mark
