Great film by Marcel Carne suddenly popped up on Amazon Prime. Cast includes Arletty.

It appears that both the Netflix and Amazon are feeling the pinch, so they are now adding, admittedly still very few, good films.

We should be grateful for that.

Is this movie also known as Daybreak or The Long Night? I have heard of Children of Paradise. I must see since you liked it.

  Daybreak sounds about right, not sure about the other title.
  
  Arletty is the common element of both it and Children of Paradise, and she is quite good here.
  
  Too bad about her life under the occupation.
  
  Gabin is in his best elements here - such a treat looking at him.
  
  Some surely will say it is boring - but we do like such early films.
