BUT was somewhat popular with the public.. I have several.. But as far as romantic comedy goes I just LOVE Maid In Manhattan... Jennifer Lopez, Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, Bob Hoskins, Natasha Richardson and Priscilla Lopez.. It doesn't get much better. LOVE Jenny from the block!

Directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Alan King, Ali McGraw, Keenan Wynn and the fabulous Myrna Loy. Waaay better than rated.
Nothing mind stimulating but good laughs abound. Same for Chevy Chase in Fletch

does... I LOVE that movie!
If I'm channel surfing and I hit this one I stop and usually watch the whole thing. Not so much for the plot but the dialog between Eddie Murphy (Dr. Dolittle) and Steve Zahn (the voice of Archie the Bear). Honestly Zahn should have been nominated for some sort of award. To me he was that good.

One of Blake Edwards later efforts and a riot IMHO (minority opinion).

That movie was the one that turned me on to Beethovens 7th.
I still have this movie on DVD.
If so, find THAT so incredibly hard to believe....
Zardoz is an insightful movie about society's elites and their unworthiness to be elites, and, finally, their ultimate death wish. We're seeing this play out even today.

. . . I trust this will be more obvious. . .

It's tough to find movies that were generally disliked by critics that I have liked.
Main in Manhattan was Pretty woman extra light and nowhere near as good IMO - and Ralph Fiennes is one of my 3-4 favourite actors and I am not opposed to Jenny from the block either. It just felt like a total PC ripoff of Pretty Woman.
But hey it is a guilty pleasure for you and I didn't think it was terrible. I believe Fiennes said he only did the movie for a paycheck to help fund the David Cronenberg movie "Spider."
If I had to choose - it might be those Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor films - See No Evil, Hear No Evil was particularly disliked by critics that amused me - but it would not be a film I would go out and see again. Just that I thought it was funny enough at the time.
Okay i have one - If it comes on the tube I usually tend to watch it - it's NOT a good movie and yet for whatever reason I enjoy it. John Candy is probably the reason why because he was so amiable that he manages to carry a lot of the dreadful movies he was in.
Summer Rental.
And you could probably add Spaceballs as well.
Don't believe it? Watch An Unfinished Life and Shall We Dance... If course I LOVE The Wedding Planner as well! She is one talented beautiful lady....
I remembered her from the movie "The Cell" which was arguably better on paper than in reality but JLO was good in it.
