'The Pride and Passion': Sophia and the Big Guns . . .

I saw this in 1957 at the excitable age of eight. I was pretty bored with all the talk and mushy stuff but really perked up for that big cannon. I found this a nice trip down memory lane with Frank, Cary, and Sophia. There are many, many things that require suspension of disbelief but works well within its timeframe. Perhaps we need a CGI remake with Damon, Reynolds, and Johannsen.

I must have been five when I saw this. Haven't thought about it in sixty years. Yikes. I remember watching it on 'Sunday Night at the Movies' on tv.

  I didn't see the least thing enticing about Loren. She was an exaggeration of the alluring ideal: Huge lips, bullet bras, and a mouth full of teeth. But, with a skin or two of wine . . .
