You easily got more out of this movie than myself. Good thing, because the only good thing I could wring out of my experience was a senior discount on the ticket.
The narrator jumping in and out made it seem like a couple of different movies jammed together, but I guess they had to get the story told somehow, because the other elements were too superficial to connect a story arc. At least to a guy like me.
It could be I can't handle a greek chorus to jump in and move the story along . Not that I am against tradition, but often a plot is constructed to get from a to b more seamlessly.
Thank goodness for variety in tastes. if it were only me, a bunch of good hard working people would have been despondent at the amount of failure for all that hard work, climbed into bottle and never came out.
Follow Ups:
this will not be confused with Dickens or Shakespeare (it's got Cardi B. fer chrissakes!).
The wife wanted to go, and I went, took the discount, and found it reasonably well directed and acted, and an engaging enough tale.
I wouldn't say my life was changed, and clearly not everyone's bag of popcorn.
Happy viewing & Cheers,
K.
Perhaps i threw in a bit of over reaction in the interest of enjoyment.
Perhaps I was unable to overcome a slight bias I formed against tittie bars and whore houses back when I was a sailor.
Because of the money involved, in a third world country, it was always a fight to get past the sex industry and get to a normal experience. On the plus side, i did get a leopard that came up and leaned hard against my legs, the way animals do when they want help. It was Texas, and the strippers let him out for exercise, thinking the place was empty.
