      Don't you both live in almost exclusively white suburbs with appropriately high entry tag to keep certain element out?

        No, and since we are talking crime and punishment I will relate a story my black neighbor told me. He was a career game warden in Polk county, which is way south. A 99% white county, so he's a black game warden in an all white county. He said he walked up to hundreds of men holding high power rifles and said, "Okay, hand over the guns." What's more he said they knew he was about to confiscate their guns, confiscate their pick up truck, confiscate their boat, confiscate their trailer, and hit them with a hefty fine. He said in 30 years he never once worried about getting shot.
        
        So, how do you think, "Okay, hand over the guns" would work out in Detroit?

Oh, I have to see it because I was there that night. I remember walking up Peachtree Street wary of every trash can I passed.
