Like almost all the films discussed here.
Any submarine films you're particularly fond of?
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination"-Michael McClure
Follow Ups:
Das Boot in original GERMAN, with subtitles.
And of Course, for an American Entry? Run Silent Run Deep must be on the short list, with an incredible cast.
The Bedford Indicent has MAJOR pucker factor and an awful ending
While
The Enemy Below certainly MUST be seen. Good cast, Good performances and an optimistic ending.
For the kid in 'ya? Disney production of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea with Peter Lorre, Kirk Douglas and many others.
Too much is never enough
Though?
"Periscope Down" probably comes closest to portraying modern life on a sub. :P
was just 26 years old! Folks grew up fast in the first half of the 20th.
'Midway' caught my attention by pointedly showing the skipper and another hand smoking while submerged! Holy moly.
Have no idea what the policy is now, but? Smoking was permitted (albeit, only in designated areas) on the boats I served on.
Me? I was very much a NON-smoker! When I was a junior EM on my first sub? It really bugged me, having to clean the electrostatic precipitators that were just covered in tobacco smoke.
