This was a spooky, supernatural 'based on true stories' show that was on from 1959 to 1961. 30 episodes per season for a total of 90, so if you like it there's lots to watch.
It is most often compared to 'Twilight Zone' and there are similarities but this is a different animal.
I've been binging lately, it's a blast from the past. The music is outstanding (see link) and the host, John Newland, is charming and likeable.

Follow Ups:
Pretty lame, we thought.
But the third episode (about the woman who could see the future for one of the guests at a NY party who was about to return to Chicago) was a distinct uptick, so we'll probably watch at least a couple more.
It grows on you. At least in my experience.
Since I bought the Sony OLED I now have a Panny Plasma in the bedroom. I like to watch an episode at bedtime.

Is OK.
I'll tune in a couple episodes... thanks!

We have a 4 DVD set with fifty episodes that I bought at Walmart really cheap. It never really scared me as a kid, just kind of creepy and intriguing. My little sister however was extremely frightened by the show. Our parents had the LP, which was really cool looking. Whenever I played it my sister would freak out, and one day she ran over and grabbed the tone arm, severely scratching the LP.
The Outer Limits did scare me. Probably because, whether relevant to the plot or not, they usually threw in some kind of monster or extraterrestrial at some point in the episode!
to the mystery and creepiness with his delivery. Creepy because it was "true".
"Outer Limits" actually scared me.
But OTOH, I remember the conversation at my high school after the "ZZZZZ" episode aired (about the queen bee assuming human form). One of my classmates came up to me the next day and remarked, "Man! That was some babe they had on the Outer Limits last night!" And he was right!
One her lines was, "How would you like to have. . . a MILLION children?" - LOL!
