100 great films for men.How many have you seen?
Edits: 07/17/21Follow Ups:
whatever, if one cares to assign gender to worth, go for it.
I didn't read the list, but enjoyed scrolling down to get some idea of content. Some might enjoy knowing that the film, "double indemnity" was released in three d, which required the old red on one side, grey green on the other , cardboard glasses.
Hichcock used the effect only for added depth of field, it made the movie look more like watching a stage play., with the projection screen something one looked through to see the action.
He only had an image come out of the screen for one brief shot, the image of a key, that was a shocking plot revelation as the story unfolded. I think the image also got a musical emphasis, but don't remember that well.

with Jurgens and Mitchum. Uboating hasn't been funner.
reading subtitles may be problematic.
of the characters. Need the subs on this one. No pun pun.
Just saw Run Silent, Run Deep today and that, if only for the terrific CAST is a contender.....
Another sub movie NOT mentioned.....though you don't see anything to do in the sub, is The Bedford Incident. Terrifying and claustrophobic at the same time.
The idea of a 'guys list' is as wacky as a list of chicklficks. A good movie is a GOOD MOVIE without regard to gender.
Too much is never enough

even the bean scene in Blazing Saddles wasn't as effective in conveying... smell.

Lots of these films aren't particularly "masculine," at all. And what's with omitting foreign films?
It's probably comprised of 100 films from the 200 the person who compiled it has seen in his life. ;)
Garfield--- and lots of director Tarantino. Who's more macho than Quentin (perhaps compensating for that unfortunate Christian name?)?
No list like this possibly can avoid Korean film. There's more testosterone overflow from an average Korean action film than any 25 of the list's...
I lived in Korea - the men there wear more make-up than the women. Masculine is Indian Jones and Sean Connery as Bond - not members of BTS - even if they have an axe.
And foreign films are for women and girly men didn't you know? The exception and the ONLY exception is if it has Bruce Lee and ninja stars. And if it doesn't star Bruce Lee it has to have a lot of Samurai swords to make up for it.
Many of the movies on that list are not manly enough. They need to be A-Team kind of stuff. Blam Blam Blam - Punch, Kapow, Thwap, Gurgle.
See Die Hard - whatever is like Die Hard. Guys call this a Christmas movie. LOL
Did I miss this on the list? One of my favorite movies. Also, how about Master and Commander....did I miss this? How about the original Moby Dick with Gregory Peck? Did I miss The Verdict...easily Paul Newman's greatest acting performance?
DROP Bored of the Rings.
Was Terminator & 2 there?
No No Country for Old Men????????????????????????????????
More Robert Mitchum!
More Billy Wilder!
More (non-Moore) Bond!
Pretty standard list, which is fine.

Those assembling the list seem to prefer older films. Don't seem much from the last 20 years.
Then you can add Deliverance as Geoff suggested. Also need to make room for The Good/Bad/Ugly

and I'll take Lethal Weapon over Die Hard any day.
I love to see them running. I love the moment of their death when I am one with Zardoz.
And hell yes, 'Falling Down' is a classic that is worth watching and re-watching many times.

Yes indeed, "Falling Down" is worth watching and re-watching many times.
As for "Zardoz", what can one say? - greatest film ever made!
I've seen them all; some unfortunately.
I've seen 87 of them. But why are they "films for men"? Many are films my wife likes much more than I did. Some, like Lawrence of Arabia and several others, are favorites for both of us.
Maybe it was supposed to be films for men 5'6" to 6'5"?
Soon someone with too much time on their hands will start doing lists based on height.
Then weight, hair length, glasses?, left handed?, etc....
