The Exorcist scared me and I'm an Atheist! So I could see that Catholics might faint or be traumatized by the film.
Although Satan never made any sense to me - so if you are a bad evil person in life - God apparently punishes you by sending you to Satan. Umm so why would Satan punish you for being an evil lousy terrible person? You're on team Satan after all - you did in life what Satan wants you to do. He's not going to punish you.
And let's say you are a terrific person and you love your brother with all your heart - your brother turns out bad and goes to hell - then you die and go to heaven - but heaven is supposed to be some sort of Utopia where all your LOVED ONES will be. But wait your brother isn't there you love him but nope he was sent to hell. So much for getting all your wishes in heaven granted.
It's all kind of goofy.
rewatching, too.
I had to go to the Lobby during a scene in an Operating Room, the Blood, the Volume, the Expectation all hit at once.
People taking refuge in the Lobby was a THING in 1973!
King's Novels are way better than Any of the Movies, Imo, etc.
But The Exorcist and The Godfather lived up to expectations for me.
